Compass Rose Air
Carbon Offset Program

Transparent about everything.
Including emissions.

Private aviation emits more per passenger than commercial. That is a fact, not a footnote. Here is the honest math, what we do about it, and a calculator so you can see the numbers for your own flight.

The Calculator

Run the numbers on your flight.

Enter your route and we'll pull the real great-circle distance from our quote engine, multiply by the per-category emission factor, and show you the offset cost. No fake numbers.

The Honest Math

Why private jets emit more.

A private jet carrying four passengers burns roughly the same amount of fuel per flight hour as a commercial narrow-body carrying 150. Per seat, that means private flying emits 10–20× more CO₂ than commercial.

We are not going to greenwash that. But we also know that for many of our clients, the alternative is not a commercial flight — it is not taking the trip at all, or driving, or routing through hubs that add a day. Our job is to be honest about the cost and to offset what we can.

For every flight booked through Compass Rose Air, we offset 50% of the calculated emissions at our own expense. Clients can choose to cover the remaining 50% at cost — typically $5 to $40 depending on the route.

The Multipliers

Per-passenger emission factors.

Public EPA and ICAO baselines, expressed as kg CO₂ per passenger per nautical mile. We use these in the calculator above and in every booking settlement.

Offsets are not a license.

We offset what we fly. We also help clients consolidate trips, route efficiently, and choose the smallest aircraft that fits the mission. The goal is fewer, better flights — not a clear conscience purchased for $15 a ton.
